Thabang Monare is currently valued higher than any player in Kaizer Chiefs’ midfield.
The Soweto giants will soon need to bolster their midfield department after the departure of George Maluleka and despite their two-window transfer ban, they are already making plans for their squad ahead of the new 2020/21 season.

As reported in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, Chiefs have approached Bidvest Wits for the services of Thabang Monare, hedging their bets in hopes that their transfer ban is overturned.
Monare is rated as one of the best midfielders in the Premier Soccer League and according to his market value on transfermarkt.com, he is currently ranked as the fifth most expensive midfielder in Mzansi.
The 30-year-old is valued at €725 000 (±R14.2m), though his millions did take a dip due to the three month break in football. Prior to the lockdown, the midfielder’s figures were at €900 000 (±R17.64 million).

This means that should Monare end up joining Chiefs, he would become their most expensive midfielder in the team.
Currently, the midfielder with the highest market value is George Maluleka at €650 000 (±R12.74 million), though he will be heading out the exit door at Naturena in the coming days.
