‘Mido’ has been with Chiefs since 2014 when he made the move from SuperSport United, going on to play more than 170 games for the club as he went on to help them win a handful of trophies during his time there.
Now though, with eight games left of the 2019/20 campaign, Maluleka’s season has been thrown into doubt after he reportedly confirmed to his current employers that he will be joining Masandawana on July 1, not long after he donned the captain’s armband in their 1-0 defeat to AmaZulu.
It is thought, however, that the 31-year-old will still be considered by Ernst Middendorp for the remaining games of the season as long as he keeps up the required work rate in training, and will not be punished for signing a pre-contract elsewhere after entering into the last six months of his deal.

Chiefs’ next game is in the Absa Premiership on March 18, and – as things stand, the midfielder is set to be in the squad, though that will largely rely on what happens between now and then.
