Kaizer Chiefs

Starting XI: Chiefs v Sundowns

 Shell Helix Ultra Cup

Teams: Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns

Date: 12 October 2019

Venue: FNB Stadium

Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns renew their rivalry in the second edition of the  Shell Helix Ultra Cup at FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The match is set to get underway at 16h00.

The Brazilians enjoyed the bragging rights in the inaugural match last season, after beating Amakhosi 2-1 thanks to goals from Jeremy Brockie and Themba Zwane.

The encounter presents an opportunity for both sides to keep their match fitness and momentum going during the FIFA break and will set the tone for the league clash coming up at the end of October.

However, both Chiefs and Sundowns will be missing a number of players who have been called up by different national teams and the coaches are expected to give fringe players a chance to stake their claim for starting berths.

In the recent matches for both sides, Chiefs beat Golden Arrows 2-0 in the Absa Premiership last Tuesday, while Masandawana edged Black Leopards 2-1 last Wednesday also in the league.

The last time the sides clashed at FNB Stadium was in January this calendar year, where Lebohang Maboe scored the winner at the death to give the Brazilians a 2-1 win in the league after an error from former Amakhosi shot-stopper Virgil Vries.

Here's how they line up:

Chiefs: Akpeyi, Sasman, Cardoso, Blom, Zulu, Katsande, Baccus, Manyama, Zuma, Billiat, Castro.

Subs: Bvuma, Moleko, Gordinho, Mphahlele, Matsheke, Ntshangase, Mahlasela, Kotei, Radbe, Lesako, Parker, Twala, Sifama, Gqezenele.

Sundowns: Pieterse, Majadibudo, Lakay, Arendse, Coetzee, Seabi, Jali, Manyisa, Mkhulise, Ngoma, Rantie.

Subs: Mweene, Ngcobo, Ngcongca, Affonso, Mdhluli, Langerman, Kekana, Sirino, Lukhubeni, Mkhuma, Meza, Vilakazi.
