The year 2019 was a year of many exits at Kaizer Chiefs, with several players seeing their contracts terminated over the past few months, and another has now found a new home.

Mario Booysen left the Glamour Boys just before the transfer window slammed shut at the end of August, and – as predicted by the Siya crew – has now been unveiled as AmaZulu’s latest signing for the season.

The experienced defender joins the likes of Hendrick Ekstein, Gustavo Paez, Khotso Malope, Ryan Moon and Virgil Vries who have all landed themselves new deals since leaving Naturena over the course of 2019, and he will no doubt be looking to hit the ground running after penning a two-year deal in KwaZulu-Natal.

Booysen played 11 Absa Premiership games for Chiefs last season after joining them following his exit from Ajax Cape Town, however was one of the victims of a major clearout at the club after they finished outside the top eight.
