The Siya crew’s secret agent believes Kaizer Chiefs can leverage Dumisani Zuma’s potential in an effort to beef up their squad.
But the top football intermediary has warned that Amakhosi might struggle to have any suitor meet their valuation of the player given his lack of game-time.
Indications are that Chiefs were contemplating putting Zuma on the transfer-list, but with Gavin Hunt no longer at the club, the forward’s fortunes are likely to change.
The 26-year-old has also undergone surgery and expected to only return to action in September when the club would have brought in a new coach.
“An interesting situation on Zuma potentially is arising. A player that certainly has quality, but has flattered to deceive at Kaizer Chiefs,” the secret agent said of the ex-Bloemfontein Celtic attacker who joined Chiefs in 2017.
Zuma still has two years remaining on his contract.
“He is a player that seems to do better coming from the bench. When given starts he has lacked the consistency, which, at a club like Chiefs, you cannot be this inconsistent. That being said, from a Chiefs point of view, can they use him in relation to a player swap or a cash plus Zuma on one of their potential targets within SA? This could be an option for them.”
According to the agent, the economy would also determine the price tag on Zuma – if Chiefs, even under a new coach, opt to sell.
“I do not see them selling him for a large transfer fee in this current climate. On the other hand, with a good pre-season, buy in from the player to work harder and if he puts in the effort to improve his consistency by analysing his game with the technical team, then he is still a player that can offer Chiefs something,” the secret agent argued.
“But he needs to improve these elements. There is no doubting on his day he has quality, but is this enough right now for Chiefs, only time will tell.”

Could Zuma make way for any of these potential new arrivals at Chiefs?
