One of SA’s growing talent management agencies has confirmed the signing of a former Mamelodi Sundowns star now linked to Kaizer Chiefs.
It has been revealed by Thato Matuka of Brand Arc, that midfielder Luis Miquissone, whose stint with Downs went very much under the radar, is now their client.
He shared an image of the two of them in Johannesburg before the player could jet out back to Tanzania with his current club, Simba SC.
Miquissone had travelled here with his team for their CAF Champions League quarterfinal first leg against Kaizer Chiefs, who thrashed Simba 4-0 on Saturday night.
“Luis Miquissone. From Mozambique, plays in Tanzania for Simba. Our first top player outside Mzansi. He is part of the family now… We are indeed home of top talent,” Matuka tweeted.
The 25-year-old joined Sundowns nearly three years ago, but was loaned out several times – to Chippa United, Royal Eagles and, at one point, back to UD Songo, the Mozambique club Downs had signed him from.
Miquissone quietly left Chloorkop in January last year to join Simba and his performances there have led to speculation that Amakhosi are now looking to bring him back to the Premier Soccer League next season.
He has featured in all of Simba’s CAF Champions League encounters and scored three goals, including one against Al Ahly, with his ex-coach Pitso Mosimane, now in charge of the Egyptian giants, watching on.
The move to join a talent management team based in SA could yet again open the door for his return to the DStv Premiership.
