Amakhosi are currently linked with a few players so far, namely the likes of Thabang Monare, Mwape Musonda and Taariq Fielies.
With the likes of Musonda, Monare and Fielies still contracted to their respective clubs, who won’t be too keen on letting them leave, Soccer Laduma takes a look at players who have been linked with a move to Naturena in the past and who now could be available in the upcoming July/August transfer window.
James Keene:
Keene was on trial at Chiefs in 2015, however, the forward then went on to sign for Halmstad in Sweden before returning to Mzansi, penning a deal with Wits. Keene, who is currently on the books of SuperSport United, will become a free agent when his deal comes to an end on June 30.
Daylon Claasen:
As reported yesterday by the Siya crew, Claasen is being linked with a move away from Wits, with the player set to be a free agent after June 30. Chiefs were linked with the 29-year-old in 2017, after his time with 1860 Munich in Germany.
Jeremy Brockie:
Brockie is currently heavily linked with an exit from Mamelodi Sundowns in the upcoming July/August transfer window. In 2017, the Siya crew reported that Chiefs made an enquiry about the availability of the New Zealand international, while he was still on the books of SuperSport.
Gabadinho Mhango:
Chiefs have been linked with Mhango for quite some time. Wits recently exercised the player’s added one-year option on his deal, however, a move away from the Clever Boys can’t be ruled out at this point, after Siya sources revealed that the club is set to make mass changes to their squad.
Darren Keet:
Keet’s stay with Wits will come to an end on June 30, where he will thereafter become a free agent. It has been revealed that the goalkeeper is keen on returning to Europe, possibly opting against the PSL should he be given the opportunity to go abroad. However, Chiefs have been linked with the shot-stopper for the past months and it remains to be seen where his next football destination will be.
