Kaizer Chiefs made a flurry of announcements on new players and several fresh contracts on Tuesday, and then added that seven more were leaving.
Following the arrival of Cole Alexander and Keagan Dolly as possibly the two marquee signings, the club also confirmed senior players Itumeleng Khune, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Bernard Parker and Lebo Manyama were staying put.
But there was no mention of Kgotso Moleko, another player who has been at Naturena since 2012 when Stuart Baxter was appointed at Amakhosi for his first spell.
The 31-year-old right back won two league titles under the Englishman, although Siya sources have informed the crew he will be moving on.
After nearly 100 matches in nearly a decade, Moleko is now a free agent and it’s though he is already assessing his options.
With his experience, there will be a few teams in the DStv Premiership lining up for his signature before the start of the season next month, although there is no rush given that he is a free agent and can be roped in at any point.
The Siya crew also reported that Willard Katsande, another veteran of 10 years at Chiefs, has not been offered a new deal and the club made that annoucement also on Tuesday.
Philani Zulu, Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya, Lazarous Kambole and Brylon Petersen will also depart, while Yagan Sasman will be headed to Swallows on a season-long loan.
Yagan Sasman is joining Swallows on loan and could be followed by a few more to the Dube Birds after Njabulo Ngcobo moved in the opposite direction.
