One of Kaizer Chiefs’ key figures so far this season has warned that the Glamour Boys should take it “one game at a time”.
Speaking on the club’s website ahead of tomorrow evening’s home Absa Premiership fixture against Maritzburg United, midfielder George Maluleka has erred on the side of caution as the log leaders look to maintain their form in the title race.
“I think we need to stay in our lane and take it one game at a time. We need to be very focused as we cannot look too far ahead,” said Maluleka.
Maritzburg are fresh from taking the scalp of title contenders Bidvest Wits on Wednesday night and will no doubt want to repeat that same feat against Amakhosi.
The two sides played to a 1-1 draw in December last year at the Harry Gwala Stadium and that result has set up a potential tricky match for the Glamour Boys in their backyard.
“We have the momentum at the moment, and we need to keep on fighting. There are a lot more games to be played, including cup games. We need good results from the remaining matches. Being under pressure and performing well is part of our DNA,” he said.
