Leonardo Castro has become one of five players who have reportedly been linked with a new deal at the club.
Over the past months, the Siya crew has reported on the situations of Itumeleng Khune, Willard Katsande, Daniel Akpeyi and George Maluleka.
The aforementioned players are all in the final six months of their contracts at the club and have all since been linked with signing a new deal.
As reported in issue number 1155 of Soccer Laduma, Siya sources have revealed that Chiefs have since already offered Castro a new and improved contract, with the Colombian also having his current deal expire on June 30, this year.
Castro now joins the increasing amount of paperwork that Amakhosi are set to finalize before the end of the season.
Khune’s long-term future at Naturena seems to be up in the air after the goalkeeper lost his place in Head Coach Ernst Middendorp’s starting line-up.
However, sources indicated in the past that a new deal was on the table, although the club has confirmed nothing as yet.
As reported in November last year, Akpeyi, who has since established himself as Chiefs’ number one between the sticks, has also been linked with a new two-year deal at the club.
Katsande is another player linked with a new two-year deal, despite Siya sources indicating that there is an added one-year option set in place.
Lastly, according to the representative of Maluleka, Amakhosi are yet to officially approach the player, although the player has long been linked with a new deal.
Now, it remains to be seen how many deals Chiefs will look to conclude in the coming weeks.
