According to Siya sources in the know, Swallows will welcome a Kaizer Chiefs player to their training base this week.
Following the Dube Birds’ decision to offload defender Njabulo Ngcobo to Amakhosi in a deal believed to have included cash plus players, indications are that Yagan Sasman will go in the opposite direction ahead of the upcoming season.
Siya sources have informed the crew that the deal is all but done, with the left-footed defender expected to report at Swallows on Tuesday.
The Siya crew broke the news of Sasman’s imminent move to Swallows some six days ago after Chiefs’ defeat to Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League final in Morocco, where the player was an unused substitute by coach Stuart Baxter.
He, along with Philani Zulu and Dumisani Zuma, had been liked with a possible switch to the Dube Birds – and now Sasman has agreed to go on loan.
The 24-year-old defender joined Amakhosi during Ernst Middendorp’s spell at Naturena and still has a contract until June 2022.
Indications are that he will spend a season on loan and then return to Chiefs to be assessed by Baxter, who will make a final call on his future before the club can extend his current deal.
Swallows could still land a few more Glamour Boys before the start of the 2021/22 season to beef up coach Brandon Truter’s side.
