Agent Sets The Record Straight On Chiefs’ Solomons

The agent of Kaizer Chiefs’ new signing Dillan Solomons has set the record straight amid bizarre claims made by Royal AM CEO, Sinky Mnisi.

Solomons, along with five other players were officially unveiled as Kaizer Chiefs players late on Monday evening with the speedster penning a four-year deal with Amakhosi.

However, on Tuesday Royal AM CEO Sinky Mnisi was on radio and disputed the 26-year-old’s signing.

“I think there will be a story unfolding regarding Dillan, watch this space. Due processes will be followed. There are no fights, we are not in a boxing match,” he told SABC’s Andile Ncube.

After some digging by the Siya crew, two independent sources confirmed that Royal AM had ‘borrowed’ cash-strapped Swallows money to pay players and staff their salaries for the conclusion of the season and had expected a few of Swallows players in return, Solomons being one of them.

However, according to Solomons’ long-time representative Grant Nieuwenhuys of GN Sports Agency, the player had not agreed to any deal with Royal AM and followed the correct procedure in joining the Glamour Boys.

“I never once got a call from anybody at Royal AM. Kaizer Chiefs followed the right protocol, Bobby Motaung spoke to Swallows and they did the deal club to club and Chiefs then approached Dillan’s representatives, which is the right procedure,” Nieuwenhuys informed the Siya crew.

“Dillan did not sign anything with Royal AM, so I don’t know how you can sign a player who has never signed anything. I mean they should know the rules. To go on radio is disrupting the boy’s focus and that is our priority, and it is far from true that Dillan has signed for Royal AM,” he added.

Solomons is expected to form part of pre-season preparations with the rest of his new teammates this week.

Solomons is one of 11 players who have moved from Swallows to Chiefs in recent times
