The Siya crew has been informed that Kaizer Chiefs could still be without one of their key players for the visit to SuperSport United on Sunday.
It was confirmed by coach Stuart Baxter last week before Amakhosi hosted Chippa United in their DStv Premiership clash after the international break that attacker Lebo Manyama had a recuring injury, forcing the medical team to pull him out of training.
Manyama missed the 4-0 emphatic victory over Chippa as a result, and at the time it was unclear how long he would be ruled out.
Indications are that the set back is not that major, although it’s unlikely that the player will feature against SSU in another big clash for Chiefs.
The Glamour Boys are eager to consolidate their Top 8 position and close the gap on log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, who, if they win against Golden Arrows tonight, could be ahead of Chiefs by a massive 10 points.
SSU will be a tricky encounter too as they are enjoying a purple patch under coach Kaitano Tembo and won’t roll over.
It was reported by the Siya crew on Tuesday that Baxter is also soon hoping to welcome back Dumisani Zuma and Kgaogelo Sekgota to the side as more attacking options – the duo have also been on the sidelines with injury.
Manyama might be scheduled for a return when Chiefs taken on Stellenbosch FC on November 2 in another league clash after the trip to SSU.
