The Siya crew reported earlier this month that Brandon Petersen had been identified by coach Gavin Hunt as the club’s next long term shot stopper having worked with the former youth international at Bidvest Wits last season.
Petersen is currently training at Naturena and, as reported in the latest edition of Soccer Laduma Issue 1196, it is understood Chiefs are keen to table an offer believed to between three and five years to secure his signature.
If the deal is concluded and Petersen is registered by Amakhosi pending the outcome of the appeal to have their FIFA ban overturned, then the 26-year-old will join an exclusive list of goalkeepers to have donned the gold and black jersey.

Khune has been the first choice at Naturena since around 2008 just after his 21st birthday and never looked back.
But the last few years have been tough – Khune struggling with injuries that have kept him out of the Chiefs squad and forced him to miss the previous two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments Bafana Bafana have participated in.
At 33, Khune’s load may have to be managed, and that is where Petersen, who still has to compete with Daniel Akpeyi and Bruce Bvuma, comes in.
