Billiat’s Agent Opens Up On Transfer Talk

Khama Billiat’s agent has opened up on reports linking the Kaizer Chiefs star with an exit from the club.

Mamelodi Sundowns confirmed earlier this week that the Brazilians are keen on luring the Zimbabwean back to Chloorkop for the 2019/20 season, and that talks were ongoing.

Chiefs. however, have since denied the reports and hit out at Sundowns. While Chiefs confirmed that there was an approach for Billiat during the recent Africa Cup of Nations tournament, the Soweto giants have explained that they not selling the 28-year-old star.

As reported in the latest edition of Soccer Laduma, issue 1136, Billiat’s agent Michael Ngobeni of M Sport Management, is adamant that the player is staying at Amakhosi.

“Khama is carrying a slight knock from the Soweto Derby match against Orlando Pirates. He is still at Chiefs and is their player. It is not a very bad injury and he should be back on the field soon,” said Ngobeni.

“He is going to be back on the field for Chiefs and he is not going anywhere. Khama will be playing for Chiefs again this season and he is going nowhere. Sundowns never called me to discuss a move for Khama to the club,” the representative confirmed.

Earlier, Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp confirmed that Billiat would be available for selection for the team’s next game, which will be against SuperSport United on August 24.
