Maritzburg reached the final of the Telkom Knockout on Sunday for the first time in their history with a 2-1 win over the Glamour Boys that could well have been more if not for the heroics of Bruce Bvuma.
Keagan Buchanan, who knows how hard they’ll be taking the defeat at Naturena, played a starring role in the win at Mbombela Stadium, but has urged his teammates to make sure that ‘keep their feet on the ground’.
The midfielder will be suspended for tonight’s game against SuperSport United after picking up his fourth booking of the campaign over the weekend, and knows that Matsatsantsa will be a tough test for the in-form Team of Choice.
Speaking to the club’s social team, the midfielder said, “Sometimes after a cup victory or getting to a final, it’s easy to be excited and lose focus… We want to keep our feet on the ground and focus on the task ahead - SuperSport United.
“It’s not going to be an easy challenge for us, they’re a difficult team with quality players and a good coach as well. So we just have to implement what Coach Eric has in store for us.
“Hopefully with the support of the crowd, because we know they’ll be there, we can secure the three points.”
