Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Katlego Mphela has given his ideal starting line-up for Amakhosi next season, when they can finally register new players.
Amakhosi have struggled this season under coach Gavin Hunt and the club’s supporters are waiting anxiously to see who will be signed for the 2021/22 PSL campaign.

Mphela feels that Amakhosi should take advantage of bringing in free agents Darren Keet and Buhle Mkhwanazi, while experienced Zambian attacker Rainford Kalaba, who has expressed a desire to play his football in the Premier Soccer League, would add value, according to the man who was affectionately known as ‘Killer’
With the likes Willard Katsande and Siphelele Ntshangase likely to leave at the end of the campaign, ‘Killer’ is hoping the Soweto giants can bring in the fresh legs of Thabo Nodada, Teboho Mokoena and Sipho Mbule. This, according to him, would be the perfect midfield trio.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen with Khune. I heard rumours that he is going to leave. Chiefs need to make a statement and compete with Sundowns, so if I was them I would get someone who is experienced to replace Khune. I would go for Darren Keet. He is free, so I’d go for him and he’s played under Gavin (at Bidvest Wits). At left back, Gavin obviously wants Hlanti. There’s also Buhle Mkhwanazi, who can play alongside (Mulomowandau) Mathoho,” the former Bafana striker tells the Siya crew.

“in midfield, I would go with Mbule and Mokoena. I’d go for players like that. They should also for experience, so they can go for (Rainford) Kalaba. He won the AFCON with Zambia.”
