It is with great sadness that Soccer Laduma has learnt of the tragic passing of rising star James McFarlane in a horrific car accident.
The player’s representatives from Siyavuma Sports Group confirmed the sad news in a statement on their official Twitter account.
“It’s with a very heavy heart that we advise that James McFarlane, Kaizer Chiefs U19 and SA national U17 team player has passed away in a tragic accident. We have lost one of our family,” the statement reads.
“Our hearts go out to his family, friends and to those of his companions who also tragically lost their life’s. We will miss you James, May your soul Rest In Peace,” tweeted SSG.
McFarlane has previously also captained the Kaizer Chiefs U17 team and was regarded as one of the up and coming stars in Mzansi.
The 18-year-old passed away after suffering serious injuries in a horrific car accident that happened on Friday in Johannesburg.
He was a former South African U17 team star under current Bafana Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki, who was the coach of Amajimbos at the time.
