Young Karabo Molefe has praised a Kaizer Chiefs coach for the role he’s played in the goalkeeper’s promotion to the first team.
Molefe, who is just 17-years-old, was promoted to the Amakhosi first team set-up back in February 2019, though yet to make any appearances for the Soweto giants.
Speaking on Chiefs official website, the young shot-stopper spoke about his journey to the first team and specifically praised Lee Baxter for his role in his career so far.
“I have a few coaches that are very supportive on and off the field. I am also happy to see very talented individuals in the junior system who are looking for a breakthrough into the first team just like me. It is good to be a shining light,” he said.
“Coach Lee Baxter has been instrumental in my promotion to the first team. He had been eyeing me since I entered the development system. He truly has faith in me and was instrumental to my promotion to the first team.
“It is not easy at all. The pressure of being a professional soccer player is a lot. As a youngster in the system, I wish to advise other youngsters who are looking to be professionals to be better prepared mentally and otherwise,” he added.
