Chiefs Beat Suspension Worries With Squad Selection

Kaizer Chiefs’ Ernst Middendorp made sure that they’re going into this weekend’s clash with Chippa United without suspensions after making decisions on his squad that faced Black Leopards.
The Glamour Boys drew 1-1 with Lidoda Duvha on Saturday in a result that saw them remain seventh in the Absa Premiership, with their coach making wholesale changes following the disappointing defeat at the hands of Baroka the previous weekend.
Two of the changes made was to completely leave out both Kgotso Moleko and Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya, two players who were just one yellow card away from a suspension, who could have missed the crucial Nedbank Cup semi-final against Chippa United this weekend if they were booked.
Meanwhile, Leonardo Castro is also one yellow away from suspension, and for that reason would also probably have been left out of the side even if he wasn’t battling with a niggle that has seen him missing of late.
Middendorp now has the whole week to decide which changes he wants to make going into the big clash with the Chilli Boys, which after this past weekend is now officially the only piece of silverware they can get their hands on this season.
