An agent of a Kaizer Chiefs player who had a difficult first season at Naturena firmly believes his client will make a bigger contribution to the side next season.
Left winger Kgaogelo Sekgota joined Amakhosi from Swallows FC, but has not quite managed to break his way into the team on a regular basis. The 24-year-old has only been in the starting line-up on two occasions in the DStv Premiership and has only played 90 minutes once. He has been used as a substitute 15 times.
The player joined Amakhosi on a three-year deal and, according to his representative Bally Smart, he is confident of establishing himself as a key player at Naturena going forward.
“I think it has been an overall disappointing season for the club. Sekgota is a player with great ability and was very eager to impress this season. Nonetheless, he does love a challenge and he firmly believes he can contribute a lot more to the team’s cause next season,” Smart told the Siya crew.
Sekgota has been given opportunities to play by interim coach Arthur Zwane in Amakhosi’s last three matches and will be determined to end the campaign on a high to give himself a chance of being a regular starter next season.
