Chiefs Coach Suspended
Kaizer Chiefs have arguably their biggest game of the season coming up on Saturday, but will have one of their coaches suspended for the clash in Durban.
Shaun Bartlett, who is currently working as Ernst Middendorp’s assistant coach at Naturena, was sent to the stands during their 1-0 defeat at the hands of Chippa United, and the Premier Soccer League have since confirmed his suspension.
The former Bafana Bafana international will now not be allowed to sit on the bench for Chiefs when they go up against TS Galaxy as they look to end the club’s longest trophy drought in history.
It’s not all bad news for Chiefs though, with all four of their players who were on three yellow cards prior to this game surviving without picking up a suspension of their own, while TS Galaxy also find themselves in the same situation without having any players having to sit out their first cup final due to bookings or red cards.
Chiefs haven’t won a trophy since lifting the 2014/15 Absa Premiership title, but that could all change when they go in as clear favourites against the National First Division hopefuls at Moses Mabhida Stadium when the game gets underway at 19h00.
