Kaizer Chiefs could receive a welcomed boost in the coming days with an insider revealing that one of the club’s biggest stars has been buzzing in training.
Lebogang Manyama has missed all four of Kaizer Chiefs' last DStv Premiership matches after suffering a recurring injury, which prolonged the midfielder’s spell on the sidelines, according to coach Stuart Baxter.
“Our injuries, unfortunately Lebo Manyama has broken down again and we pulled him from training, so he is back to the rehab programme,” Baxter told the media about Manyama’s absence.
But, it appears that the 31-year-old has used the recent FIFA break to his advantage and looks closer than ever to the matchday squad, according to an insider at the club.
“Lebza has been looking good at training, he is sharp and could be included in the team for the next match (against Maritzburg United),” the insider told the Siya crew.
The news would come as a welcomed boost for coach Baxter whose side is on a high following their 2-1 win over Orlando Pirates just before the international break.
Manyama is not the only Chiefs star working his way back to full fitness according to the insider, with Leonardo Castro also close to good shape. The Colombian is yet to kick a ball for Amakhosi this season, although he could be back in time to see the team through their jam-packed December fixture schedule.
