Parker Comments On Expiring Chiefs Contract

Experienced Kaizer Chiefs striker Bernard Parker has commented on his future with the club, with his contract set to expire in June.

The Amakhosi forward has been at Naturena for 10 years and was present at the Carling Black Label Cup launch on Tuesday afternoon, probably a hint that he could still be with the club going into next season. The Black Label Cup will be played on July 31, a week before the new season gets underway.

The 35-year-old striker has featured in 36 matches in all competitions, proving to be one of coach Gavin Hunt's key players in what's been a difficult campaign for the Soweto giants.

"Chiefs is forever in my heart. You know with football, even if you have a 10-year contract, you are not safe. if you have one month left, you are not safe. So what I am doing now is focusing on one game at a time and do my best and it's for the management to decide if they want to keep me," the former Benoni Premier United forward told media at the event held in Johannesburg.

"Chiefs is my family and I definitely want to continue here. It's exciting that the Black Label Cup is back and I am sure every player is excited for the game to be back. We will see how it goes. But for me, I am just enjoying my football and that's what's important to me."

10 Chiefs players who are out of contract at the end of June, could be offloaded:
