Amakhosi Man’s Battle For Balance…

The battle for balance is something that Kaizer Chiefs’ Siyabonga Ngezana is striving for as he looks to make his Amakhosi mark, but it’s not an easy feat…

Ngezana has already played almost 30 Absa Premiership games for the Glamour Boys since his promotion to the first team back in 2016, but the 22-year-old is still trying to shore up his future beyond football despite his early age.

The Chiefs youth graduate is currently studying Sports Management while also playing for his club and representing his nation at U23 level, and he’s admitted that it has been a challenge for him – even though it’s one he’s enjoying.

Speaking to Chiefs’ official website, Ngezana said, “I find my studies interesting… It is so far so good to be studying Sports Management, but it is challenging because of the balancing act that is involved in my life at the moment.”

“The balance is key because I have to focus on my studies while at the same getting regular call ups to the national team. I’m driven by passion and dedication to achieve my dreams. I have to focus on all fronts to reach my goals.

“I want to give my studies all my best while at the same time not neglecting my football career. Education and football go hand in glove for me.”

And a message for those around South Africa currently heading for their 2019 examinations? Ngezana says, “Have passion, be dedicated and work hard to achieve your dreams.

“It takes a belief in yourself and putting more work in the studies. Mostly focus and know that there’s life after football. And I wish everyone sitting for exams during this period all of the best.”

Ngezana got his first minutes of the season earlier this month during the 2-0 win over Golden Arrows, and will be eager to try and force his way back into Ernst Middendorp’s plans ahead of this weekend’s crunch game with Mamelodi Sundowns.
