Football has largely been brought to a standstill given the Coronavirus outbreak, but there has been talk of a new deal at Kaizer Chiefs…
As reported in this week’s issue of Soccer Laduma, Lebogang Manyama could be rewarded for his form this season with a new long-term deal at Naturena, despite the fact that he still has more than a year left to run on his current contract.
Manyama played 21 of Chiefs’ 22 Absa Premiership games up until the league was halted by the COVID-19 situation, and just Daniel Cardoso (1980 minutes) has managed to to play more than the former Cape Town City star (1878 minutes) so far.
Given the fact that Chiefs now face a two-window transfer ban that was handed down by FIFA over the signing of Andriamirado 'Dax' Andrianarimanana in 2018, meaning that it has become increasingly important for them to keep hold of the players that they currently have on their books.
The attacker has provided more assists than any other Chiefs player in 2019/20, as well as scoring six league goals, as they climbed to the top of the league table, and Siya sources have been led to believe that a new deal could be on the cards before the new season even gets underway – whenever that may be.
Do you think Chiefs should keep hold of Manyama beyond next season?
