While appearing to be out of favour at Kaizer Chiefs at the moment, due to his lack of regular game time, midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase has attracted interest from an Amakhosi rival in the PSL.
Ntshangase has not played in any of Chiefs’ matches so far this season under coach Ernst Middendorp, appearing to be out of the picture.
Having enjoyed regular game time under former Chiefs coach, Giovanni Solinas, during the first half of last season, Ntshangase struggled in the team since Middendorp took over for the second half of last sason.
The 26-year-old made only three starts and one substitute appearance in Chiefs’ Absa Premiership campaign of the 2018/19 season under the German mentor, and has been linked with an exit from the club in recent times.
Before the Carling Black Label Cup match against Orlando Pirates last month, where Ntshangase was in Chiefs’ starting line-up as voted for by the supporters, speculation had been rife that the attacking midfielder had been one of the players linked with an exit.
At the time, the player’s agent Jazzman Mahlakgane confirmed that talks had been ongoing between him and the club regarding the star’s future.
With Stash, as Ntshangase is fondly known, still struggling for game time under Middendorp at Chiefs, indications are that his former club, Black Leopards, would be interested in adding the player to their already strong squad.
“Black Leopards is interested in Siphelele Ntshangase from Kaizer Chiefs. Leopards would love to sign him, even if it’s on loan,” explained a Siya source.
Ntshangase made a name for himself with Leopards, where he earned Bafana Bafana call-ups, while playing in the National First Division.
