Newbies: Chiefs Trio Make Amakhosi Bow…
There were three new players on the field for Kaizer Chiefs as the Amakhosi ended their opening day hoodoo over the weekend, and two of them made a direct impact in Makhulong…

Prior to yesterday’s 3-2 win over Highlands Park, the Glamour Boys hadn’t won an opening game in the Absa Premiership since 2014/15, but Lebogang Manyama’s brace and a goal from Erick Mathoho made sure that they took three points back home to Naturena on Sunday.
Ernst Middendorp gave debuts to Samir Nurkovic, Kearyn Baccus and Lazarous Kambole in his first XI of the 2019/20 season, with Nurkovic and Baccus immediately endearing themselves to the Amakhosi faithful by setting up Manyama’s goals.
Kambole, like their new Serbian hitman, completed the full 90 minutes as he made his bow in the Absa Premiership, while Baccus was replaced at the break by Dumsani Zuma as Middendorp looked to push for a winner.
It wasn’t to be for James Kotei, though, who remained on the bench throughout the game in Tembisa as he still awaits his competitive debut for the club, and he will no doubt be hoping that that comes for him this coming weekend against Black Leopards.
Yagan Sasman was suspended for the encounter after a red card at the end of last season, and also faces a bit of a wait before he can get out on the field for his new employers.
