There’s no competitive action for Kaizer Chiefs or SuperSport United this weekend, so the two Absa Premiership clubs battled it out behind closed doors on Friday…

The Glamour Boys and Matsatsantsa were both knocked out of the Nedbank Cup by Highlands Park and Mamelodi Sundowns respectively, meaning that they have this weekend off as the quarterfinals take place across South Africa.
With that in mind, Ernst Middendorp and Kaitano Tembo used a fixture between the two sides to stay fit and firing ahead of their return to competitive action next weekend, but it was Tembo who came out on top over 90 minutes at FNB Stadium.
Goals for Guily Manziba and Teboho Mokoena – who captained in the absence of Dean Furman – were enough to get them a 2-1 win, with Lazarous Kambole scoring Amakhosi’s only goal on the day.
Youngster, Gape Moralo, was given a runout by Tembo in the game on Friday, as was Ndivhuwo Ravhuhali as he battles back from a long-term injury, although the likes of Furman, Bradley Grobler, Ronwen Williams and others were given a break.
For Chiefs, a few fringe players such as Siphelele Ntshangase, Happy Mashiane, Njabulo Blom and Siyabonga Ngezana all got chance to get some minutes in their legs.
Chiefs and SuperSport face Bidvest Wits and Bloemfontein Celtic next weekend respectively.
