Amakhosi’s New Signing Shines Again…
While most of Kaizer Chiefs’ current players are resting up after a long Absa Premiership season, their newest signing has just taken a step closer to silverware…
Lazarous Kambole was announced last week by the Glamour Boys as they look to bolster their ranks in preparation for the new campaign, with the Zambian international being snapped up from ZESCO United after a reported fee of around R3m was agreed.
The 25-year-old attacker, however, will only join his new club on July 1, and for now is concentrating on helping ZESCO in their attempts to lift both the Absa Cup and FAZ Super Division before he makes the switch to South Africa.
Kambole got an assist and won a penalty as his side took one step closer to doing that over the weekend in a 2-0 win over Buildcon in the Absa Cup, meaning that they will now play Zanaco on June 22 to decide who will get their hands on the trophy.
Then, on June 29, ZESCO face Green Eagles in the final game of their league campaign, as they look to clinch the title on the final day with a victory at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in what is set to be Kambole’s final appearance in the colours of his current club.
Do you think Kambole can bag a trophy or two before joining Chiefs?
