Inside Chiefs – All Smiles As Keeper Boots Up
It was all smiles at Naturena today as table-topping Kaizer Chiefs opened up the doors of Naturena, and there looks to be good news on the goalkeeper front…
Take a sneak peek inside Chiefs' training in the gallery above!
Chiefs are currently preparing for this weekend’s game against Polokwane City as they seek to make sure they maintain their place on top of the Absa Premiership, and Ernst Middendorp was seen joking around with senior players such as Itumeleng Khune and Willard Katsande as they look to keep up their unbeaten start.
Khama Billiat, who was the saviour for Zimbabwe on Tuesday, was not present as he travels back to Mzansi ahead of Saturday’s game, while Bruce Bvuma could be back in contention after being spotted back in boots after he missed a couple of games due to injury.
It remains to be seen whether Middendorp will opt to bring Bvuma back into the side if he is fit to return, or whether he will remain with Daniel Akpeyi and Itumeleng Khune as his two goalkeepers in the 18-man matchday squad.
Meanwhile, Ramahlwe Mphahlele is also still a doubt after he sustained a groin injury last month, although he was due to start jogging against last week and will be looking to get back as soon as possible.
Chiefs are currently enjoying their best start to a league campaign in five years, but face a tough task in Rise & Shine on Saturday afternoon.
Do you think Middendorp should swap things around if Bvuma is fit?
