A Kaizer Chiefs midfield star has spoken about the change of fortunes for the team and their improved results, following a disappointing start to the season.
Despite being halted this past weekend by Stellenbosch FC in their winning run after playing a 0-0 draw in the Mother City, Amakhosi are on the right track to keep up with the pacesetters at the top of the DStv Premiership standings.
Gavin Hunt’s side has moved up to seventh on the log going into their next encounter at FNB Stadium on Tuesday afternoon against struggling Baroka, and Kearyn Baccus has lauded the teamwork at the Soweto giants.
“I’m getting a little bit more confident now, I think the boys are starting to get into gear, which is good. You know, we’re getting a little bit of results under our belt and that’s all we’re looking for at the moment. It’s not about individual performances, it’s just about the team as a collective,” said Baccus, speaking through Chiefs’ media department.
‘’At the moment I’m playing with freedom, I think that was the most important thing in the beginning, you know (I) was just getting a little bit more nervous and stuff like that but now I’m just playing for freedom, my family, supporters and I’m enjoying myself again, which is good, so that’s the most important thing,” said Baccus.
