With only two months remaining until the next transfer window, an in-form defender from one of the Absa Premiership clubs is linked with Kaizer Chiefs.
Though there has been no official word from Chiefs regarding Highlands Park’s Sifiso Mbhele or any other player that the club might be looking at for a potential move, it has been indicated from sources in the know that interest is being shown in the player from the Soweto giants.
Before he was halted on his progress at the Lions of the North by an injury before the FIFA international break, Mbhele had been one of the standout performers for coach Owen da Gama’s team, with his displays at the heart of the club’s defence noticeable.
According to one source, as reported in edition 1144 of Soccer Laduma, the former Free State Stars player is being monitored by a number of clubs, in particular Amakhosi.
“Sifiso Mbhele is being monitored by a few clubs, and the big one is that Chiefs is one of the teams monitoring his progress,” said the source.
“The boy has been a marvel to watch at Highlands Park since joining the club. He’s helped to shape and improve the team’s defence,” the source added.
