Chiefs Hitman Opens Up On Double Award Win
After winning two awards at the FAZ/MTN ceremony on Saturday, Kaizer Chiefs’ hot new attacker has spoken out about the recognition that he’s received.
Lazarous Kambole picked up the Fans’ Footballer of the Year and Most Disciplined Player of the Year awards at the ceremony in Zambia over the weekend, with the Amakhosi man being honoured by FAZ for his efforts at ZESCO United last season.
Kambole will now be hoping to take that form into his Absa Premiership performances, and he insists that he’s fully focused on performing for his new employers as he seeks to get off the mark in Mzansi.
Speaking to Chiefs’ official website this week, the 25-year-old said, “It feels great and humbling to be recognised… My focus now is doing duty for Kaizer Chiefs and achieving a lot more. I will take these awards as a motivation leading to the next game against SuperSport United and the rest of the season.”
Kambole has played all 180 minutes of Chiefs’ 100% start to the 2019/20 season, and is expected to feature once again this weekend when they go up against an in-form SuperSport United side.
Chiefs host SuperSport at 18h00 at FNB Stadium this weekend.
