Surprise As Chiefs Superstar Jets Out!
In a surprise turn of events, one of Kaizer Chiefs’ star players jetted out of South Africa yesterday to take up a challenge in Zimbabwe.
Khama Billiat, one of Zimbabwe’s top exports, missed the first leg of their World Cup qualifier against Somalia last week, a game in which the Warriors suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to their East African opponents.
The 29-year-old has been dealing with an injury that kept him out of the loss on Thursday, but it seems that he is now available for selection, news that will come as a boost to both Zimbabwe and Ernst Middendorp.
A statement from the Zimbabwean Football Association read, “(Joey) Antipas calls for more reinforcements… Khama Billiat is on his way to join the team ahead of a World Cup qualifier against Somalia on 10 September.
“He's the only player who has scored in the Warriors' last 5 competitive matches. Somalia carry a 1-0 lead from the first leg.”
Billiat touched down in Zimbabwe yesterday as he arrived to bolster Antipas’ attacking options against Somalia, though it remains to be seen whether he will be thrown straight into the starting XI at 15h00 or not.
