Kaizer Chiefs may have a battle on their hands in order to keep hold of Khama Billiat for the upcoming season, with interest in the attacker growing every day.
Billiat is due back with Chiefs this week after being given extra time off before returning for pre-season due to his participation at the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, but there are still question marks about his future.
The 28-year-old has previously stated that there is nothing to discuss about whether he will be at Naturena for 2019/20 or not, but it appears that his performances at AFCON 2019 have turned a few heads.
According to Moroccan publication, Maghrib Foot, Raja Casablanca are very keen on adding the Zimbabwean to their attack for the upcoming campaign, though it seems there is only interest at this point in time.
They said on their website this week, “Following the departure of Zakaria Hadraf to Saudi Arabia, Raja Club Athletic have been on the look for a skillful winger to replace him. Technical director, Fathi Jamal, has been on the look in Egypt during the Africa Cup of Nations and according to sources close to the club, he has seemingly grown fond of Zimbabwe’s main attraction, Khama Billiat.”
One potential stumbling block, however, could be the fact that the attacker does still have time to run on his Amakhosi contract at Chiefs will no doubt be looking for a hefty transfer fee.
Billiat’s current deal has two years with an option still remaining.
