The Glamour Boys have submitted an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport following the two-window transfer ban that they were given following the signing of Andriamirado 'Dax' Andrianarimanana back in 2018, but with the outbreak of the Coronavirus it remains to be seen when they will get an answer – and if they do it may not necessarily be good news.
As things stand, Chiefs will not be able to sign any players in the upcoming offseason or in January in the midseason window, and with George Maluleka already leaving the club for Mamelodi Sundowns, they’ll be eager to make sure they keep a competitive squad available to them.
Player such as Philani Zulu, Leonardo Castro, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Joseph Molangoane, Brylon Petersen, Khama BIlliat and Siphelele Ntshangase have all been linked with exits for various reasons, while ‘Mido’ is already on his way out.
With the league postponed indefinitely – though the league hopes to be done by the end of June – Chiefs do have some time to finalise deals their squad for next season, but lots could well rely on what happens with their CAS matter, something that could well drag on for a while yet.
