Kaizer Chiefs will see no less than eight players leaving Naturena this month for commitments across the continent as the international break rolls around.
The Glamour Boys are currently sitting pretty on top of the Absa Premiership table after 22 games, and have a four-point lead as they go into the final stretch of the 2019/20 season.
Their form in the league has seen several players rewarded with international call-ups for Bafana Bafana, while they also have a handful of players who will be heading out to various parts of the continent for their respective 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Itumeleng Khune and George Maluleka were handed surprising recalls into Molefi Ntseki’s side after long absences, while Reeve Frosler could make his Bafana debut and both Lebogang Manyama and Erick Mathoho are in there as well.
Elsewhere, Daniel Akpeyi will be hoping to take his Chiefs form into Nigeria’s qualifiers this month, Khama Billiat is set to turn out for Zimbabwe, and Anthony Akumu will be part of Kenya’s AFCON qualifiers as well.
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen whether Lazarous Kambole will make it into Milutin Sredojevic’s Zambia squad for their qualifiers against Botswana at the end of the month.
