In these trying times, with football around the world at a complete standstill, Kaizer Chiefs have issued an important notice to their loyal supporters…
Amakhosi have taken measures within the club to limit the spread of the deadly Coronavirus, closing down their youth academy and shutting their retail stores in an attempted to keep their employees safe and well.
Now, with the club stating that their fan branches should not be meeting for the time being, they have also urged supporters to practice social distancing in order to keep themselves – and those around them – safe from infection.
The club said on their official website, “We encourage social distancing by prohibiting gatherings of more than 100 people. Prohibiting mass celebrations of upcoming national days. Furthermore, the President stated that where small gatherings are unavoidable, organisers will need to put in place stringent measures of prevention and control.
“The wellbeing of the supporters is of great concern to us. We urge the supporters to follow government guidelines regarding hygiene to ensure the wellbeing of everybody. We trust that soon this will pass, and everything will be back to normal.”
Chiefs were due to face Bidvest Wits last night in the Absa Premiership, however it now remains to be seen when that game will take place.
