Chiefs are enjoying a healthy 2019/20 season as they seek to celebrate their 50th year of existence by bringing to an end their lengthy trophy rought, but it’s not just Ernst Middendorp and his players that are working hard.
Behind the scenes the club is looking to sort out the future of several of their players, whether it’s new contracts, administrative work or looking at possible exits, with numerous matters set to be finalised in the coming weeks.
Players such as Daniel Cardsoso, Daniel Akpeyi, Itumeleng Khune and Willard Katsande will all see their current contracts expire at the end of the current season – although there are some with one-year options in place – while others such as Siphelele Ntshangase and Philani Zulu are seemingly out of favour and could be options to move on on either a loan basis or permanently before the window closes on Friday night.
Meanwhile, another aspect that the club is working on is making sure that new signing, Anthony Akumu, is ready to make his debut as soon as possible following his move from ZESCO United, with them explaining recently that he didn’t have his paperwork yet.
Is there any player you think Chiefs should sign before the window closes?
