Duo Near Amakhosi Return
Kaizer Chiefs say that two players are nearing a return to action as they look to get back for Ernst Middendorp’s table-topping Amakhosi as soon as possible.
Chiefs say that both Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo ‘continue with their rehabilitation process’ as they look to come back from groin and Achilles injuries respectively, however there is no specific date for their return at this point in time.
‘Rama’ has already featured for Chiefs this season before sustaining his injury, while young Ngcobo suffered a serious knee injury shortly after making his debut in the latter half of the 2018/19 season.
A statement on the club’s official website read, “Mphahlele has had another infiltration into the groin. His pain is subsiding. The good news is that the fullback will start jogging this week.
“Ngcobo is another ray of hope coming through with the news that the youngster has started training with the team albeit making no contact yet. The young midfield dynamo is recovering from an Achilles injury picked up last season.”
Chiefs’ next game sees them face Polokwane City on September 14 when the Absa Premiership returns following the international break, with Khama Billiat another player who is on a recovery mission after sustaining a knock to his groin.
