Big Decision As Middendorp Leaves Out Chiefs Duo?
Kaizer Chiefs have four players that are one yellow card away from missing the Nedbank Cup final, and it’s thought that Ernst Middendorp has opted to leave two of them in Johannesburg.
Daniel Cardoso, Leonardo Castro, Dumsani Zuma and Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya all find themselves on three yellow cards at present, meaning that a booking against Chippa United tomorrow would see them suspended for the final in just over a weeks’ time.
With that in mind, it is believed that both Cardoso and Ntiya-Ntiya may have been left out of the Amakhosi squad that travelled to Port Elizabeth, with Middendorp seemingly not willing to risk having them unavailable for that clash with TS Galaxy next weekend despite the risk of falling out of the top eight this weekend.
Both players have played a big role for the Glamour Boys this season, and Middendorp will be eager to try and make sure that he has the strongest possible squad to pick from as he looks to end the club’s long trophy drought.
Meanwhile, Mario Booysen is likely to miss out again following a knock that he picked up earlier this month, though he too will be keen to try and get back in time to face Galaxy in the final game of their 2018/19 Premier Soccer League calendar.
