Kaizer Chiefs have been forced to move their game with Bidvest Wits to later next year due to changes that have been made by CAF recently.
It was previously reported that the Glamour Boys’ clash with the Clever Boys in January was likely to be moved after it became apparent that Wits would have CAF Confederation Cup commitments, and it has now been revealed that the Absa Premiership has been pushed back a couple of months.
Chiefs were meant to host Gavin Hunt’s side on January 21 at FNB Stadium, and while the venue and time (19h30) remains the same, the game will now be played on March 18 instead so that their opponents are free to travel to Guinea for their vital game against Horoya.
The club confirmed the news on their official social media channels today, saying, “Fixture Change! Please note that Amakhosi will now play the Clever Boys on Wednesday the 18th of March 2020 and no longer on the 21st of January 2020. Kick-off at FNB Stadium will still be at 19h30.”
Chiefs’ final game of the year takes place on December 22 when they take on Maritzburg United at Harry Gwala Stadium as Ernst Middendorp seeks to end 2019 on a high.
