Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed how long Kabelo Mahlasela will face on the sidelines after a nasty looking injury that he picked up while playing against Chippa United.
Mahlasela limped off the field over the weekend early into Chiefs’ Nedbank Cup victory over the Chilli Boys, and there were worries that he may be out for a chunk of time as the season came to an end.
The Siya crew reported earlier in the week, however, that the attacker’s injury was not as bad as first feared, and the may would only spend a short time out of contention, something that has now been confirmed by the club.
Before last night’s game against Golden Arrows, the club said on their official website, “Kabelo Mahlasela will be out for about a week after the foot injury sustained in the first half in the game against Chippa United.”
A week out means that, while the 28-year-old missed the encounter with Arrows and is unlikely to return against his former employers, Bloemfontein Celtic, next week, he could be back in action next month as they prepare for the upcoming Nedbank Cup final.
