Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that Sifiso Hlanti has started training with the team.
The Siya crew broke the news of Amakhosi’s latest interest in the 30-year-old back in July this year, though at the time it was revealed that Orlando Pirates were hot favourites to land his signature.
However, weeks later, Siya sources subsequently informed the crew that Amakhosi, who have been big admirers of the player, made a progressive leap in their pursuit of Hlanti.
At the time, Chiefs were preparing an offer for him, though it was dependent on the outcome of their two-window transfer ban appeal before the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The Soweto giants officially appealed on September 09, though no decision has been made as yet.
Now recently in September, the Siya crew broke the news that Hlanti had agreed to make the move to Naturena, though this before he was released by Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhadila on September 17.
Now Hlanti, who’s a free agent and can sign with any club of his choice, has officially started training with Chiefs, under the watch of familiar faces in Gavin Hunt and Dillon Sheppard.
As things stand, should Hlanti put pen to paper on a deal with Amakhosi, the club will not be able to register him to play unless their ban is overturned.
The transfer window is expected to close shut at the end of November and it remains to be seen whether Amakhosi will be able to take part.
