Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter feels that there should be some flexibility when dealing with fixtures and Covid-19 outbreaks, as Amakhosi currently wait to hear their fate regarding the two DStv Premiership matches they did not honour in December.
The Siya crew has reported that Chiefs and the Premier Soccer League have been provided with three options and must now pick an arbitrator to fast-track the outcome of their dispute, after the Soweto giants were charged for their failure to honour Premiership matches against Cape Town City and Golden Arrows.
Baxter referenced the English Premier League, where some matches over the last few months have been postponed and rescheduled due to Covid-19 cases within the clubs.
"Global football has been suffering. What I would say is that many leagues have been learning as they've gone along. They have made a ruling and then they have realised that we've got to be more flexible than that. Many leagues have done that. I would just hope that we can do that," Baxter told the media.

"I realise there's arbitration and all these things, so I can't say too much. But I would hope that's what comes out and we move along with the knowledge that we have of the situation. I don't think there's anybody in the (English) Premier League that's had near than what we had (in terms of Covid-19 cases), but there have been clubs that have had their games postponed and rearranged."
