News reaching the Siya crew is that AmaZulu FC have lost one of the club's star players, amid talk of a move to Gauteng.
Usuthu are believed to have ended negotiations with midfielder, Siyethemba Sithebe, with indications that the player is on his way to Kaizer Chiefs.
As reported by the Siya crew in December, Sithebe is believed to Naturena-bound, with the player in the final six months of his contract.
Siya sources have revealed that talks for a contract extension reached a deadlock, with the 29-year-old rejecting a new deal in KZN, fuelling indications that the star is close to an exit.
AmaZulu chairman Sandile Zungu confirmed to the Siya crew two weeks ago that no approach was made for the player at the time.
Due to Sithebe still being under contract at Usuthu, the two clubs would need to agree on a fee for the transfer of the player, unless AmaZulu terminate and render the attacker a free agent.
According to insiders, the deal with Amakhosi is as good as done, with indications that the midfielder will not finish the season in KZN.
The Siya crew contacted AmaZulu for comment, but the club requested to not make any statements on the rumoured move.
"We don't have a comment on the story," Phumlani Dube told the Siya crew.
