Amakhosi’s Parker Talks Of Chiefs’ Fight
Bernard Parker, who has been Kaizer Chiefs’ stand-in captain, has spoken about the fighting spirit in the camp at present as they prepare to face SuperSport United.
The 33-year-old has donned the skipper’s armband in both of Chiefs’ opening games against Highlands Park and Black Leopards, playing 172 minutes as the Glamour Boys got off to a 100% start with 3-2 and 1-0 wins respectively.
‘Die Hond’ is seen as an important player for Ernst Middendorp due to his experience and winning mentality, and he says that the team is ‘fighting for one another’ after a disappointing 2018/19 campaign last time out.
Speaking to Chiefs’ official website, the forward said, “We have started off with six points which is something good and a positive beginning for us. We had a good fighting spirit in both of our games so far… We have continued to put in the work by fighting for one another in training and has shown and will show in our performances.
“In the first game against Highlands our fighting spirit was good we came back from a goal down to win and against Leopards we continued in the same way. We played well created chances won the games and importantly collected three points.”
Chiefs take on SuperSport, who have back-to-back 3-0 wins, tomorrow night at 18h00.
