The Glamour Boys had returning striker, Samir Nurkovic, to thank for getting back into the game against Cape Town City on Saturday afternoon, with the Serbian forward coming on to get the equalising goal after they had been trailing for the bulk of the game following Kermit Erasmus' opener.
Nurkovic, along with George Maluleka, both made their returns from their respective injuries against City - something that will have come as a big boost to Ernst Middendorp and his technical team - however it will have been bittersweet due to the timing of their entry into the field.
While Reeve Frosler, another player back in action following an injury, started and finished the game at Cape Town Stadium, Nurkovic and Maluleka were brought on as forced substitutions following injuries to Kearyn Baccus and Bernard Parker in the first half of the encounter.
At this point in time it remains to be seen how serious Baccus and Parker's injuries are ahead of next weekend's big game with Masandawana, but the fact that they were both stretchered off suggests that they may end up joining Itumeleng Khune and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo on the list of players who won't be able to feature in that game.
Middendorp will now be waiting with bated breath as Chiefs return to training to prepare for Sunday's Sundowns clash, while fans are also eager to find out whether Baccus and Parker will be available for selection or not as they seek to remain on top of the Absa Premiership table.
