Chiefs & Downs Table Bids For SuperSport Star
Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns are believed to have tabled offers for one of SuperSport United’s top strikers, though it remains to be seen whether a deal will be completed.
Evans Rusike played 24 Absa Premiership games for SuperSport in 2018/19, scoring five goals for the club as he finished as their joint top scorer in the league, and the Siya crew has previously spoken of the Amakhosi’s interest in the Zimbabwean.
Now, according to Siya sources, the Glamour Boys are thought to have tabled an offer to Matsatsantsa as they look to try and get Ernst Middendorp one of his top targets, however Sundowns have also been in touch and there is also believed to be interest from other clubs elsewhere.
At this point in time it remains to be seen whether SuperSport are willing to let the forward leave for another club elsewhere, though they may be tempted if the right offer comes in for the forward ahead of the upcoming African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, Middendorp is a big fan of Rusike’s having worked with him before at Maritzburg United, and the German is eager to try and get him on board at Naturena as he seeks to turn around their fortunes in 2019/20.
Rusike has a long-term deal in Tshwane, suggesting that it will take a substantial offer to persuade his current employers to letting him move on elsewhere.
